Went to the Mall this afternoon with the family and while walking through Bass Pro shop I noticed a little table next to the huge Aquarium which seemed to look like a credit card sign up of sorts. Usually don't even look in case they take "looking" as a sign of interest so as I was walking by towards the end of the table I noticed at the corner of my eye that one of the two was a women so as a man I guess my reaction was to take a quick look, if that was the reason I looked. Well I'm glad I did cause the girl the corner of my eye caught was Gabby Franco who I highly admire for, first off, being an Olympian and secondly being the first women to compete and heavily challenge a male dominated field of snipers. People like this have above normal energy levels and to be able to feed off this energy, even for a few minutes comes around seldom in life. I won't bore you with details but along her side was a friend whom she introduced as "JD" no last name, an Army Sniper who is recruiting at the moment and had no doubt he "WAS" the real thing. The new season of TopShot is TopShot Allstar with Gabby being the only female against what looks like the meanest MFers on the planet. First show was last Wednesday and shows start at 10pm on History channel. I've already TIVOed it and wifey looks like shes more into it than I am since she met Gabby also and is "not" a shooter, maybe this was the turning point......we can finally turn her.......YES!!!!!! Thanks GABBY!!!!! GREAT EXPERIENCE with way too much info to write down. Like to say a big Thank you to Gabby and "JD" for embracing my family like we new them for years. SUPER COOL EXPERIENCE!!!!
P.S. After a little digging I found out that At the age of 19, she was the first female to qualify for the Venezuelan Olympic Shooting Team and represented her country at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She took silver at the Pan American Games in 1999 and gold at the South American Games in 2000. In her last international competition, the 2002 South American Games, she won three gold medals. After moving to the United States, Gabby began competing in tactical and IPSC competitions. After being eliminated in Season 4’s “1,500 Yard Shot” challenge, Gabby is ready to win on this season of Top Shot All-Stars.
