Those of you who have used the STR 80, is it easy to spot bullet trace? I’m considering buying one but the higher zoom (25x) makes me worried that it might be too high.

Zoom won’t dictate if you can see if or not. I can see it with my 10x sig binos. And 8x meopta binos. Position in relation to the shooter, environment, and just plain old knowing what to look for is what’s gonna make the biggest difference. Caliber also slightly comes into play. It’s a lot easier spotting a 308 than a .22LR or 223 etc.
To answer your question, seeing it on the Swaro is not a problem. I see it all day in my Henny Spotter 60 (20-60x).

No issues with most spotters and magnification. Key is to focus about 100yds back from the target and have the target low in the field of view.
