Re: Swaro Z6 or Zeiss Diavari for a hunting scope??

It all depends on the intended use,

what are you going to hunt?

I think the Z6 are fugly and I have extensive experience with Ziess, I prefer them, they just plain work.

Feed us some more info and I´ll give you a answer with more substance.

Best regards Chris

Well then then the Zeiss is all that you need,

you do know that you can have a balistic turret retrofitted to the scope, they come in five or six versions and a true costum version,

The ffp of the Zeiss is really a good thing.

I think that Swaros in general are great optics, I still have one a 8x56 however they are still not as sturdy as one would like them to be.

Based on the info you presented, I would go with the Zeiss, it has more than twice the internal elevation travel of the Swarovski. It's not a good idea to pick a scope based on a lot of words. I suggest you have a look through them and examine the turret controls and reticles before you decide.

I have one too,

It´s the allrounder of large scopes, works as a tac scope, hunting scope, BR scope hell yes it works.

Downsides, Huge, heavy and sort of draws stares at the range, othervise the best.

Re: Swaro Z6 or Zeiss Diavari for a hunting scope??

Sako stalker,

I have found that for sheer ruggedness, utility and strenght the Ziess is the best hunting scope, slightly smaller/lighter than a PMII S&B but much the same beast any way.

There is little quality difference between a Swaro and a Zeiss in regards to glas, some might even say and with good reason that some of Swaros glas is better, but I feel that the Swaros are slightly delicate,

I might be wrong but that is my gut feeling.

That Ziess of yours just screams I mean buisiness where as a Swaro states more along the lines of I am here to play to.

In Sweden were the scope quatlity varies greatly, I find it to be true that the Swaros are owned by guys with a lot of money and nice guns, they like driven game hunts, no need to get dirty,

I and many with me own Ziess and we are the guys doing the drives, the tracking in the mud, the crawling in under undergrown pine threes to go get that roe/boar/moose that was shot and lost way back over there.

I like to get dirty, I like doing my hunting the hard way, I like Ziess.

Doesn´t that sound like a commercial or what?

here is a pic of mine by the way.
