Pretty excited about this and had to post this. As this is beyond 1,000 and has been my longest shot ever w/ iron sights, hitting the target. Bunch of guys from the Hide here spent the day at Rock Castle. When were done shooting scoped rifles, I had brought my K31 along to try it at 600. Rifle did real well and 600 so I thought what the heck, the 1050 was the biggest target I could see. I could not see them in the AM w/ iron sights but when the sun moved behind us, you could see the 1050 without a scope.
I found out one thing. Even though the rear sight is in meters (and I took that into consideration) the adjustment was still nowhere near what it needed to get there. I think I have it set on 6 if I recall. My buddy was spotting for me and once I got the elevation and wind figured out, he said I was all around the target. Last 10 shots he said would have been on a man sized silhouette. I burned up about 20 some rounds of GP11 but on last shot hit bottom of steel target at 1050 yards.
Wish I would had video of that shot but had a spotter and multiple witnesses. Proves again that the K31 is a crazy accurate for a "surplus" rifle.
