I stopped by the Tac Ops shop last night to pick something up, and while I was there I spotted some beautiful engraved floorplates. Mike said it was cool if a snapped a few photos so I seized the opportunity.
It still blows my mind that all Tac Ops engraving is done the old-fashioned way - with a hammer & chisel. That is true engraving artistry.
NOTE: It was after dark and no natural light was available, so I had to use the flash. Also, trying to minimize flash bloom in the engraving I had to shoot at an oblique angle, which also muddled some of the detailing, but you get the idea - these floorplates are baddass!
While no photos can ever do Tac Ops artistry justice, flash photos never look as good as photos shot in natural light. I did the best I could with the built-in flash:
