Tactical brass recovery bag

Re: Tactical brass recovery bag

I haven't used that one in particular, but brass catchers are very useful. Just make sure the mouth is open properly. Sometimes the brass will ricochet back into the ejection port causing a jam and smashing your brass but it beats searching for your brass. There are some cheaper ones at Brownells

Re: Tactical brass recovery bag

That looks promising. What I do is drape a large rectangle small hold netting over my rifle and bunch up the netting under the mag. It is not as swank as that one but it cost me I think $9.00 for a yard and I have a few of them. I use a bigger one on the 308 and a smaller one on the 223.

It was originally Tan when I got it but where the casings impact it has caused it to have a nice big black spot on it.

Yes, I have one on my Armalite AR-10. I love it, but it is on the expensive side but will worth it to me. Item is very well designed and made. I looked at all the ones I could find on the web and this one by far suites my needs the best.

Re: Tactical brass recovery bag

Appreciate that RRP. I know...the cost was a tad bit more than I expected but it appears to be a well built unit. Does it attach at just the one point on the hand guard or are there more?

I've tried several of these over the years, a plastic "can" that clipped onto my Uzi SMG, a deflector and bag for an M16/AR16 and another I tried on an FN-FAL. Every one of them had jams due to bouncing brass. Not often, but enough that they were unreliable.

YMMV.

Re: Tactical brass recovery bag

If I'm shooting off of bags on a bench or prone from a bipod, I throw a towel over the scope and let it drape with some angle to it ( I'll put an ammo box or something with some weight to hold the towel out away from the ejection port ) works like a champ and its free !!!

It attaches to the hand guard picatinny rail. I have never had a problem with jams due to brass bouncing back into the ejection port. The zipper on the bottom of the bag makes it very easy and fast to empty the bag.

Re: Tactical brass recovery bag

They are the balls. I have one for my SCAR-H and two M4 models. It's the only brass catcher I've used that doesn't suck - and like an AI, if you can afford it, there's nothing else comparable.

Re: Tactical brass recovery bag

I'm a hat-wearing guy and that's what I use. I strap the velcro around the scope and elevation turret and let the top and bill hang over the ejection port of my AR15. I haven't had any jams as the brass just gets deflected onto the bench/ground. I HAVE had hot brass roll under my arm though and the burns to prove it....

Haaaa, beat me to it!

Wonder what makes it 'tactical' and not just brass recovery? Oh wait, its black...

Re: Tactical brass recovery bag

Dumb question, but anyone know whether the AR15 catcher from Tactical Brass could be made to work with a Sig? I assume answer is "no" since they are developing a Sig specific model. I have a DMR 556.
