Re: Tactical Weapons Magazine Drake Stalker .300

I saw this magazine yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised to see you guys on the front cover, but damn...that magazine just makes any/everything look so mall ninja it's ridiculous.

Re: Tactical Weapons Magazine Drake Stalker .300

Its not "mall ninja" or "tacticool" or any other bs words that people come up with. Its evolution in a sense. Companys change because thats the world today. If you were a hot dog salesman and the new generation of buyers were hamburger eaters than you would change too. People need to quit b****ing about things because its not thier way. THE OLD WAY. You dont have to like the stuff but you dont have to cry about it at every turn. I dont mean to sound like a d**k but times are changing, get used to it or move on.

He's not ragging on the product, he's ragging on the magazine making everything look "mall ninja" and "tacticool" instead of simply displaying and discussing the product. It's like that stupid effing zombie craze that was going around.

Re: Tactical Weapons Magazine Drake Stalker .300

having delt with Chris over the last year I can highly recommend him and Drake Associates. Customer Services is top tier and he will do everything within his power to get you hooked up with whatever you want. I ordered my chassis over a a year ago and he still calls to see how things are going, along with sending the upgrades that have been released.
Drake and I have been talking about a 260 Stalker build and if I can ever straighten this other build gown wrong business out, I'll be returning to him for another build.
Excellent work as usual Chris , thanks

Re: Tactical Weapons Magazine Drake Stalker .300

Interesting rifle. A few issues with the article, though. Can anyone spot what jumps off the page:

"From the bench, the author cut five-shot groups to 1/3 MOA with handloads, but factory fodder’s best - just over 1/2 MOA - is plenty accurate for targets out to 1500 yards"

"From my limited trigger time, I was able to collect enough information for a very short article."

Hmmmm.....

Im not talking about just this product, Im talking about the phrasing that ignorant people use. Why does it have to be "mall ninja" or "tacticool"? Why cant it just be simply called what it is..........Tactical. Anything that you dont like than it must be "stupid" right? Its something to get new shooters involved. Maybe we dont like your "stupid effing" clothes, or your "stupid effing" house, or your "stupid effing" mini van" but you dont hear us slamming it every chance we get. Yes, I like the zombie stuff. I own one of the limited run zombie Sig 1911s. I also like the tactical stuff. So maybe I should take shots at all the "john wayne" cowboy garbage that you probably own. Nah, I dont need to because I invite any style that gets another person into the hobby.

Is it tactical, though? Is it really?

I think that is the thing that people are saying here. No one is saying lets all pretend its 1890 and go back to black and white ads that would put most of us to sleep.

I wonder how over-used the term has become. Is this or that in a magazine really being used to further the tactics that an operator is applying in a situation where tactics are necessary?

999 out of 1,000 times, the answer of course is: no. Its a commercial styling and a commercial buzzword.

Is it necessarily too much to ask, why can't a great product stand on its own two feet without playing a game of make-believe that if you buy the product, you can expect neat red light effects, or to feel like you are swooping down from a helicopter with it?

Particularly if that product has/is never going to be used by ANYONE in such a way? The drake product in this case probably will. But so many don't and it may not be too much to ask that once in a while something is advertised without crazy lighting, a ghille suit, and a need to read it while wearing something with a BLACKHAWK! or 5.11 label.

Re: Tactical Weapons Magazine Drake Stalker .300

Regardless of weather or not people will be dropping from choppers or whatever else, its a style. And there is a huge population that likes it. All Im saying is there is no need to slam it or belittle it so that other people that read your statements feel like they are beneath you because of a style the are most drawn to. Im not trying to sound like an a**hole but wouldnt you get a little tired of people slamming what you like or making you feel like you have no presence here because of a style you chose. Im a tattoo artist and and I always tell people that there is no such thing as a "stupid" tattoo, only personal preferance. My brother and I built a "steampunk" themed .22 and although that style isnt my preferance, I dont bash on him for it. And you guys shouldnt bash on the style of others either.

I detect a bit of butt hurt along with some undertones of mall ninja in yourself. Did I offend you for sleeping in your tac vest at night? I'll tell you what's mall ninja. Paying $600-$800 on a Counter Sniper because airsoft douche canoe working at the gun counter told you the SEALS used it to send some freedom bin Laden's way. Mall ninja is a term referring sugar tit thin-skinned children who bitch about the term "mall ninja" because it hurts their feelings. If you're gonna continue on your bitching tyrants you won't make very many friends on this site because no one really gives a shit about your true inner feelings about useless crap like the term "mall ninja."

Re: Tactical Weapons Magazine Drake Stalker .300

In case you didnt notice, I could give a f**k less if i make friends on here. Did I offend you for speaking my opinion. If so, to bad. You probably just heard the word somewhere anyways and thought "oh, I should join the band wagon because I'm incapable of coming up with my own thoughts". Your just a follower who thought if he could come up with something clever he might look cool. Sorry douche bag if I hurt your feelings for having my own thoughts. Its ok though, im sure there will be some other noob that will think your "cool".

Re: Tactical Weapons Magazine Drake Stalker .300

You're right, I don't know what I was thinking. One day I will learn to over-pay for marketing schemes like zombie killer products, and anything marked "government overrun." But until dementia hits me, I think I will learn to use reasoning behind my purchases.

I will openly admit my jealousy because the drake chassis is above my price range. It would be perfect for my in progress build.

Yet I will have to go with MDT's Tac21 simply because its a choice between affording the Tac 21 And a suppressor vs the same money for just the drake chassis.
