So I've purchased a few Triple Aught Design Ranger LT Hoodies, and I can't seem to get any consistency on sizing. I'm a little on the heavier/stalkier size, but have not had any luck at all. Are these jackets just only made for skinny guys or what? I'm 6' 250 lbs. fairly athletic build. I'm by no means that fat, so I can't figure it out. I ordered a XL, and the shoulders and arms are spot on, but can't zip it up without looking comical. I get a 2XL and the arms are ridiculously long. Condor jackets have been a joke on the sizing as well. Any other companies that you guys would recommend? Still wanting a comfortable fleece type jacket, but also want the sleeve patch areas as well. Anybody else have these issues or can you recommend a different company to possibly try out? Thanks in advance.

I gave up on anything TAD Gear as far as clothing. I’ve found the fit on items really inconsistent, to the point that two pair of the same model of pants, in the same size, fit completely different.

That's pretty much the issue I've had as well. Even 2 different 2XL's didn't fit the same either. Are there any other brands that may be suitable options?

Arc’teryx, Outdoor Research, Patagonia, Wild Things Gear, and Beyond Clothing all fit well, and I have found them all superior to TAD.

Yep, I think all are better in quality as well. TAD in my opinion is overpriced for what it is, and the last pair of pants I received from them were made in China. I don’t mind paying for quality gear, but nothing from TAD really ever blew me away quality wise as far as clothing.

I’ve had two TAD jackets of the same model, one in XO and one in XXL and the XXL was smaller. You never know what you’re going to get. But their customer service is great.

I went to a TAD store in San Francisco to try to find some things that fit. Just doesn't work for my build, especially the jackets. They're definitely set up for slimmer builds (I'm not fat, just built like a fire plug). Anything that fit my chest had 2+" extra on the sleeves. I gave them some feedback about it through a friend who works for them as a designer, but doesn't seem to be super important to them at this point.

As far as jackets go, I have several Arcteryx and Mammut pieces, and they've been quality, so far, with good fit for my body type. For shorts/pants, I've had good luck with Kuhl and Prana brands - they both have shorts and pants in "tactical" style colors that are made with some stretch/give that make them perfect for athletic use while still using a belt. Those aren't cold weather options, but work great for cool/windy weather, or cold with a base layer.

You need to go up a size on TAD jackets..they are sized for "tactical" hipsters..and to my surprise not made in U.S. also their warranty is crap. the goretex seam tape peeled off and they wouldnt warranty it..

Wild Things IMO is about the best ive used in past 10 years and warranty and service second to none..Thats why they have so many govt contracts..Ive been using Beyond Tactical for over 2 years now and last two jackets/fleece are pretty amazing and about equal to Wild Things. Both these companies produce top American made clothing.
