What if the conservative party did some actual work with immigrants and brought them to their side instead of seemingly only bitch about them for whatever values they assume they have? Talk to any Cuban or many Latinos I know and they're conservative as hell but NOT because Republicans reach out to them. It's because they want the value of their work returned to them (not given to someone else) and they appreciate "traditional family values". They are voting Democrat because they view Republicans (painted by the media, no doubt) negatively despite the Democrat's misalignment with their values. The girl I'm dating right now - from South America and came here legally - absolutely hates Joe Biden, for example. The Republican party can talk about how it believes in legal immigration all it wants... it's not going to develop confidence any immigrant is going to vote for them unless they start engaging them. They might realize they have a lot more fans than they think. Right now the minority (in quantity) voices on both sides are the loudest and most reported on. Get to the basics, get votes. Even engage the illegal immigrants like human beings... you'll find a large portion of them - even despite the threat they will be sent back - are conservatives.

I’m not sure about that. Chicago has one of the largest Polish communities in the United States. I’ve found them to be hard working, honest, show up on time get the job done right kind of people and I far prefer them working on my house than anyone I’ve met in Chicago who came from south of the boarder. The Pols remind me of your average American in 1975; I actually like them better than your average born and raised in Chicago “American”. The people from south of the boarder have gone soft from all the social programs and handouts they qualify for and no longer have the work ethic they had 20 years ago. Just my personal experience.

I don’t know about these Ukrainians, but hopefully any let into our country are more like the Polish people I’ve run across.

I was talking Ukraine, it’s the place that’s a capital of human trafficking, corruption, etc etc

Personally I just don’t want to risk it, if a population, in mass, has accepted communism/fascism, I don’t know how long it takes to breed that shit out, I know we still have some shitty puritanical roots in the US, so I’d imagine the shit stain of statism lasts at least long.

Letting comblocs in, might be good, might still be commies at heart, reminds me of this scene.
