Let me start by saying, I have never served in the military, looking back I greatly regret that mistake. I have the utmost respect for the men and women of our Armed Services. It absolutely sickens me that these Senators DENY some of our returning troops a FAIR trial to defend their right to own a firearm. I have friends that have returned from Iraq that had some issues to deal with initially ,with help and counseling they have gotten past these issues. These men and women are good enough to defend our nation and provide us freedom, but not trustworthy enough to own a gun when they return????

WTF!!

I can't agree with you more! I was too young for Desert Storm, and then had a business by the time 9/11 came along. My one regret in life is that I didn't take the time to serve in the Military. I greatly love and respect all our service members, and abhor all those who want to take their honor from them, after creating most of the stress that caused those same soldiers to have issues---I am convinced that many of these issues stem from having idiotic "Rules of Engagement" and constant threat of punishment if the warriors merely defend themselves without approval, or are forced to work under a microscope and fear of court-martial for getting the job done.
Now, this same govt. that created those horrible conditions for our service members, condones the purchase of hollow-point ammo for use domestically, when they would be the first to court-martial any service member who used these "prohibited" munitions on terrorists who are not even enemy Soldiers, but rather F$%^&*g Terrorists.

There is one large group of people in the U.S. that belong to a certain political party, many do not work, never have worked, and never intend to work, they do not join the Military, in those states that have large numbers of these people, the senators from those states are not interested in anything good for the military or military members, but rather how much money they can give away to those that vote for them. Between the none workers and the union labor in those states, they feel they are pretty safe, and sadly they are. They almost always seem to be lawyers (ACLU members) anti 2nd Adm., anti free market, anti military, Pro Giveaway. Until those states go completely bankrupt, we are not likely to see a change, but change is on the horizon-as some of the liberal anti gun states are just about tits-up! Just saying.....

To tell the truth everyone who served in combat got a little F-ed up. My old man was in the sixth wave at D Day and I don't think he every recovered completely. When he was 62 we were driving across southern France where they had spread manure on the fields and he started crying. I said nothing and when we stopped for lunch and asked him if it was something I said - he replied "no it reminded me of the war". Only then did he tell me of his war experiences. I enlisted three weeks after the TET offensive in 68 and I know it took me years to get my shit together. Our generation was expected to take it like a man and nothing was ever discussed about our thoughts or feelings.
There are few feelings that match holding a rifle that your life depended on - happiness is a warm gun.
Those guys deserve the right to bear arms and I will curse eveyone that wishes to deny them a privilege that they have earned many times over.
