I have the Crye Airframe with the rails and was considering a close/medium range white and IR light to mount on the left side.
I was wanting something that could be used for when my hands need to be free, won't require me to point my rifle at everything for IR illumination and will act as a general 'ambient' or general light to help illuminate my surroundings when moving around at night. I have a VIP adventure light hanging on a D ring from a shoulder strap, but the problem with it for this purpose is that it needs to be constantly aimed at what I am wanting to illuminate (thus taking my hand off my rifle) and it isn't very bright. It is mainly meant for an emergency light and strobe and works well for those purposes.
I came across the WML IR light and liked what I saw. The weight is extremely attractive and with 75 mw of IR light should be able to illuminate nicely to 100+ yards. The lockout system is an added plus especially for a helmet light as you never know when you are going to bump into something or bring something up to your face/head area and accidentally hit the clicker that turns the light on.
Anyone have any experience with these? Good, bad, other?
Was trying to figure out a few things as well: to attach it to the Crye rail, is there some sort of adapter for it - would be a bonus if the adapter has the capability to angle the light from left to right so that I could center its convergence. Also, does it have a setting for constant on for the IR light?
