I was reading threw "Learnings from Rimfire Comp Thread" and there was some talk about spotting your shots on paper at 100 yards and 200 yards, spotting scope or rifle scope.

I haven an idea.... I don't know if anyone has tried this. So lets say your paper target is set up and you set up an orange sheet of paper behind that lets say 12 inches. would that be enough distance that the angle of bullet flight threw both sheets of paper would be different then line of sight threw target paper to see orange paper threw the hole? then maybe it would be easier to spot your hits?

Re: Target Idea

Very good idea! My estimated drop chart shows that my shots will have dropped a little over 1.5" at 110 yards with a 100 yard zero. The same thing could be said for 200 yards, but with a greater drop, albeit slightly greater. What worries me is that the orange showing through the tiny hole that little .22 caliber round pokes into paper would not provide ample enough visual aid to spot your shots. I will have to give this a try though, out of pure curiosity alone. It's a very good idea, and could prove very useful for those of us that dislike removing our head from the rifle stock to look through the spotting scope.
