Looking for feedback in two areas, grip and trigger tension, for a Taurus 85UL.

1) Pachmayr, Hogue, Uncle Mikes, or whatever has worked for you.

2) Spring kit or way to adjust the tension for the pull on this model

Re: Taurus 85

Thought I'd revive this thread since I am looking at getting a few of these for my wife and I strictly for deep cover carry.

I will be putting sets of Wolff hammer and trigger springs in both of them since I've handled the 85 at the local gun shop and the DA trigger pull is HEAVY! If I shake while pulling the trigger, then my wife may not be able to get the darn thing back at all. haha

These definitely don't have the S&W triggers, but does anyone have experience with the NEWER Taurus revolvers? I know they went through some rocky times many years back with quality issues.

Just can't afford 2 Smiths.

Any comments?

Re: Taurus 85

I have an UltraLite w/a hammer. I'm not sure of the year (bought it used here) but it does have a key. The DA is heavy but manageable so I haven't looked into spring kits. I did switch out the factory grip for a Hogue monogrip. With the factory grip my pinkie finger had no where to go. The Hogue fixed that problem. Used the same grip for my SP-101 .22 with the same results.
