Rifle Scopes testing scopes or testing my eyes?

I screwed a .866" washer to a telephone pole 88 yards from my deck. This was to be a 1 moa optical target.

Good scopes or bad, it seems to take 6X for me to see it.

I just tried a quarter in the shade at 50 yards. I can see it no problem, though I probably couldn't tell you when it was minted.

How 'bout have a couple other guys check it. What power do they need?

Do you have things like the diopter(eyepiece) adjusted correctly? The reticle is crisp and clear? This can cause a problem if it is adjusted incorrectly.
Does the scope have a parallax knob? Was it adjusted correctly?
These may be simple points but just things to check as you didn't go into specifics as to what you did to aleviate the problem.

With a 6x scope that would be the same as looking at it unaided at 15 yards. I have no problem seeing 9mm or 45 caliber holes at 15 yards. So something is probably not correct with the scope. Have you tried other scopes? If you have and the problem remains possibly it's time for an eye exam.
