She took a shot with that story , hey we could use it one day . You walk into your neighbors house blast him and tell authorities you thought you were home and thought some guy was banging your wife.
not sure what hair color or skin color have to do with anything regarding facts of the case.
Not much cept she was a blonde. None of her story made any sense to me.
The fake crying without a tear in her eye didn't help any, just don't get it is all.
I think the driver for the attention was a white person was the shooter and she shot a black person. If both had been white or black this case would have gotten very little air time.

So she was found guilty. Justice won't be done though until she gets the same sentence as anyone else in a similar situation.
Real question now is what was she doing there and why did she kill him? Because unless she was shitfaced, there is no way in hell she could have thought she was in her own house. Like I said before, the smell alone gives it away, that "someone else's house smell" that hits you the second the door opens.
Once that bullshit story is shattered, then it brings in more questions, because this probably goes a lot deeper. Was the guy silenced? Did he know something? Was she paid or working for someone, or was she part of a corrupt group of cops or was she crooked and doing it all on her own to cover something up she did? Either way, it leaves more questions than answers.
My guess: She was banging him and one thing or another (maybe she also was buying weed off him or engaged in other nefarious activities) and he knew too much, threatened to talk so he had to go.

I just think there has to be more to the story. You open some dudes apartment and shoot him sitting on the couch eating ice cream. you don't call 911 until some time passes. You don't try CPR on the guy.

Although many do not believe that someone could mistakenly enter the wrong apartment, I know first hand that it does happen.
I have had this happen to me on two occasions (same woman) except the woman not only tried to enter the wrong apartment she was in the wrong building.
Stupid ass would go around the corner to the local bar and drink then try to find her way home. Maybe the cop had a few in her.

Honestly I haven't followed the story all that much and didn't even know the guy killed was black let alone what the bitch's hair color was.

Anyone looking for more details, just do some damn research instead of making ridiculous guesses/assumptions. I remember the original news stories when this first happened stated she’d just gotten home from a double shift (or some similar), and they described in detail the layout of her apartment building. Supposedly each apartment level has its own elevated parking attached so all you have to do is get out of your car and you’re on the correct floor. She counted up the wrong number of floors in the parking garage, got out of her car, and went to “her” cookie cutter/identical apartment door. Essentially this guy lived right underneath or above her.
Not making excuses for shooting the man, clearly she f***** up. Nothing brings an innocent man back from the dead, but there doesn’t seem to have been any nefarious intent from what was presented in court or the news (aside from all the “blue woman shoots black man” bullshit). All the talk about her buying weed from/or screwing the guy and it all going wrong is ridiculous.

If you want to know, go read the transcripts? I don’t have any reason to read the transcripts as I have no doubt the situation was as stupidly avoidable and tragic as the news tells us in this case.
I have actually walked into the wrong apartment once. First day there, and all the doors are the same. Took less than a second to realize I was in the wrong apartment. Quickly apologized, and left. Though we're no longer neighbors I'm still good friends with them, and we laugh about it still. Something about the officer's story just doesn't add up. I mean to open a door see a person, and begin shooting seems like an unlikely chain of events. Even if she thought it was her house shouldn't she have asked why he was there? Who he was? Anything at all before the need to kill?
She isn't a cop anymore. I haven't seen anyone here bash LEO as a group here.

She claims as she put her key in the lock she noticed at that moment the door was just slightly not closed all the way.

That is what is in the record. Since she is the only one alive and there is no evidence of force entry there is nothing to argue against that account.
She fucked up and being a cop couldn't save her. I think justice was served. Let's see how much time she gets but right now looking a little harsher than expected.
She should have thrown herself on the mercy of the court, and taken whatever plea bargain they offered. 100 times out of 100 she would be found guilty in a trial.

Not sure how the law in Texas is, but here in Florida you're not allowed to use deadly force while committing a crime. In this case she was trespassing. Here she would have absolutely no case. Also she would be responsible for any and all collateral damage.

I think you misunderstood. Once she committed the offense of trespassing she lost her right to use deadly force.

I disagree, and so do the courts in Florida. A man was just convicted for using a gun in self defense after he illegally parked in a handicapped parking space. It's not that he used the weapon in self defense, but by committing the crime of illegally parking he had escalated the situation causing the need to defend himself. He lost that right when he illegally parked. Use a gun while committing any crime in Florida, misdemeanor or felony, you're going to jail. Every time. Laws may differ in other states, but that's the law here.

Again. It is Dallas. No one sits around with their doors open/unlocked. Strange indeed, of the hundreds of doors in the apartment complex, she chose the one that was open. Bullshit. She went down there, knocked on the door, he opened and she had him at gunpoint.
You are correct in that once the victim backed away the shooter was no longer facing imminent threat, but the illegal parking is what caused the whole incident. Not sure what you mean it had nothing to do with the case. That's what caused the situation to end up the way it did.
