I am still a fan of the .357 magnum caliber. It can still handle 2 or 4 legged problems well and can punch paper with anything else out there currently. I sold a handgun so I had room and play funds to get something new. I have a bias to S&W revolvers. I have owned Python's , Ruger's, Dan Wesson's but S&W still makes a damn nice wheel gun ( when they want to). I was a huge fan of the 627 models that were around in 1989 but those are more collectable than shooters to people that own them now. Since the price of them is around the $1000 mark I started looking at the Performance Center guns and specifically the 627 currently offered. It reminds me of the 1989 model but has 8 shots , EXCELLENT balance , sights and a damn smooth action. Its a shame I takes a nice chunk of change to get a nice wheel gun today.

Very nice gun, congrats. The only handgun I regret selling was a S&W Model 19 4", I thought about it the other day when I noticed I still have a set of .38/.357 dies. I've planned on replacing it for years but after seeing yours I might have to check out some of the Performance Center's offerings.

I also had a 19 the but let it go when the 686 L frames hit the market. I still have it and it might be buried with me. The 627 performance center & 627 pro models are just as much "perfect" as the 686 L frames.
