This is a quick video showing the effect of venom on blood (scary).

The video has some fuck doing a voice-over but it's worth the watch alone.

Snake boots, wear them.

I have stepped on a Canebrake rattlesnake before without my snake boots, luckily I didn't get bit but it was a rude reminder to wear them.

Re: The effect of venom on blood.

Thats spooky. Check out the 10 most deadly....note the amt of venom needed to kill...the Belchers Sea Snake tokes only .00001mg, or 1/10,000 of a milligram, which I believe works out to 1/1,000,000 gram, but somebody check my math...not my strong suit.

Re: The effect of venom on blood.

Actually - it depends on the snake. I've worked on research at Penn using pit viper venoms of different species to prevent coagulation during ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation), the opposite effect of what you see in this video. But yes, the venom is very strong.

That is the human body's defense to prevent spread of the venom although some venoms have the opposite effect liquefying internal organs and tissues.

I think they use some venom to to treat blood clots and or heart attack stuff, you'd know better than I though.
