But, I agree, it is very possible that it came from the storm drain. Conversely, the graphic representations in the movie of JFK "riding high" in the Limo at the time of the fatal shot were grossly exaggerated. I firmly believe he was riding/sitting much lower in the limo, hence a shot from the Railroad Overpass seemed much more likely, in my opinion.

As a hunter that grew up shooting, I saw the results on video thanks to Zapruder film. The shot that hit him in the back, throat could conceivably come from a 6.5 with solids from the School Book Depository or the building beyond.

The final shot that sheared the side of the president's skull off and created that horrific flap of scalp came from a viciously fast round like a 5.56 or .243. And from below. A shot from the grassy knoll or railroad overpass above would have driven the presidents head down instead of up.
