The gun was straight onto the sand bags, cold at 50 yards. No warm ups. Straight up cold bore.
Steady light 2-6 mph from northeast - shooting North northeast 12-14 degrees to target. In other words, make an X with your two index fingers. The left finger will be pointing at the target the right finger pointing to where the wind is coming from.
These are the only 7 shots fired from the gun, today.
Every shot felt like I had been doing this daily for 100 years.
Ammo used - Eley Match
This is not an isolated event, nor cherry picked. This is what my gun does when I'm on my game with good to excellent conditions.
Target bull is 1/2 inch.

You really got a winner gun, and you've shot different sets of ammo all producing those results. Talking to a few gunsmiths doing LR precision, that kind of repeatable precision out of your rifle is very benchrest quality, so your vudoo rig was very well made. You should submit a score to the 6x5 thread.

Did your rifle take a while to break in or season?

Did your rifle take a while to break in or season?
Hard to answer that. My gun shot lights out, straight out of the box.
I can't say with certainty that its gotten any better. I can say that I've gotten better with it.
Is it me , or the gun? Probably both.
Keep in mind that I have my own range in the back yard. It's nothing for me to up and go loose a few rounds off the bags outside.
What you see up there is a combination of a capable tool, and someone who practices with it a lot. All the practice in the world isn't going to help you if you're picking up a ruger 10/22 off the shelf at wally world. You have to have something really capable of meeting or exceeding the goal, like Annies, or Coopers, Kimbers, Vudoo, custom guns and whatnot. Once you have the tool, its all about practice, technique, repeatability. If you stop shooting for a month or two, you have to come back and learn it all over again.

I wish your gun would hurry up and get here. I would advise starting out with Lapua CenterX.
RWS won't be far off.
Though all of this ammo does exceedingly well, Eley Match is Truth from my gun. Every 4 shots of that stuff and you just sent over a dollar down range, though. But as you can see, it is very good. So good that I believe that Mike Bush doesn't know that his chamber is really for Eley Match. lol

Below is part 2.
The gun wasn't touched again until after 5pm yesterday afternoon.
Went ten rounds with Eley match. The variables changed slightly since the target in the morning.
It was also cold bore.......no warm ups. one through 10.
Could have been better. You know, the usual, Eye fatigue, variables constantly changing. Would have been better if I had stopped at 5 shots which were one little hole. Just proves that I'm human and anyone can do this, with enough practice.

The best group at lapua az testing for my gun was about .3” c to c, at 50 meters. They say it will get better. I sure hope so. Thats why i asked about yours.
Never crossed my mind that the dime was hiding one.

Cuzz-is yours getting bedded while at Vudoo? (if they offer that service)
No, its a mpa chassis , i hope it dont need it and i might want to put 700 or clone in it later. And i might bed it later?

i have a savage-bart centerfire in a mpa that shoots very well without bedding.
I mean normal very well, not Shooter x very well!!

Amazing group! How long did it take you to fire these 7 rounds?
I don't know. Probably about a few minutes. I wait for windows of opportunity in varying light winds.
I watch the leaves on the trees, stuff thats behind and on both sides the target. When you can see and feel movement, you can bet that there will be some shifting. In the light stuff I take my time. In the heavier stuff, 7 shots could come in less than 21 seconds because I'm trying to shoot inside a given window.
At longer ranges , in hunting situations where the wind just never stops and its going every which way ( turbulence) there is practically no way to account for it. I like shooting over or around water because I can see the wind much better. And yeah I dope up on it ( as close as I can which doesn't always work out) sometimes when I have to. But for target shooting where I have all the time in the world, I poke the target by the feel of whats going on around me. Target shooting at extended range, those shots come fast and usually in a window.
I hope I explained this right. But it looks like I have no definitive answer.

T.S. - sorry for the late reply.

Cuzz, on the other thread you mentioned the best lot averages about .4” c to c at 50 m and around 1.2” at 100 m.

Do you mind elaborating a little on this? Did you request for the rifle to go directly from Vudoo to Lapua instead of you shooting it first for a while?

Can you also provide a little more detail on the 0.4” or 0.3” average at 50m? Was this shot by Lapua with the barreled action in a vise? Is this an average of 5 or 10 shot groups? I mean if the rifle is shooting 0.3” for 10 shot groups, it’s pretty good (but 0.4” for 5 shots with the best lot, not so much).

He shot 2 groups of that batch, look closer, one post was average between the 2 and one was the best group. Measurements were mm and i converted to inches, im a few hundredths off im sure. it was 10 shots.
if im gona be called this close i guess i better get it rite. Group 1 was 10 shots 29.20 mm od, group 2 was 10 shots 28.20 outside to outside also. Oops those last 2 groups was at 100m.
Heres what i was calling the .3” smallest and .4” average. 16.7 mm and 12.14 mm. 10 shots each at 50 m .This is the first time ive ever seen a test sheet and i dont fo mm well.
If something aint right , i apologize and it was not on purpose.
remember the last 2 groups are also od, the .3 & .4” that i talked about were c to c.
Im new at this, i didnt know that i needed to shoot it first before testing and it was already at lapua when i read that on this forum. also learned too late that they dont test with sk anymore.

I think he tried 16 lots of cx

He/she has been trashing vudoo guns for a while now. Because he/she bought an Anschutz when he/she really wanted a Vudoo.
I wish that I could invite him/her over for a day of shooting and since he/she is in Texas I believe. That would not be all that hard to accomplish since I am the next state over in Louisiana. If for no other reason than to shut the Hermaphrodite up, once and for all.
I might add Kevie, .4 is a damn site better than that stringing mess of a test target you received with your Annie.
You are invited Kev, it would be fun......and I could teach you how to use an optic. And I could teach you about barrel cant, and stock warpage....and I could teach you about all the other silly things you were asking about AND giving advice about when you were/are, completely clueless. You don't even have to bring a body guard with you. I refuse to be sued for beating up on an out of shape pencil necked geek, with a chip on his/her shoulder who is in the midst of an identity crisis. And probably has hot flashes a few times a week.
Misery loves company , Kev, and I'm so miserable without you, it's almost like you're here.
So instead of stalking me all over the Internet like a scorned lover, in dire need of a child support payment , please accept my invitation.

And finally. Who in the HELL asks a question like , " Did the Lapua test facility put the gun in a vice? You twit.

Your friend,

Like shooter_x, I’m amazed by the V22. I picked up another lot # of center x to try the other day. My rifle has consistently loved the old wolf ME made by Lapua but I finally found a lot of center x that it loves. These were the

first 20 shots of it and also not cherry picked, I shot a 10 round group and then two fives. Well pleased with the V22, zero buyers remorse.

No need to apologize Cuzz. I do not know you but just from reading you here, you seem like a good guy.
Here , this will help you if in the future you want to convert to anything metrics.

I had found that, the problem is me. Im used to have measuring with a tape measure and eyeballing center of the hole. Within a 16th is plenty close enough for me.

@tlsmith22 -that is some outstanding shooting. Thanks for posting your groups and clarifying that it was the first 20 from that lot. I look forward to trying different lots (i've only tried one) in my V22 soon. Again, well done and total respect.

I ordered a brick of the new Eley made Wolf ME and was less than thrilled with it. It was pretty terrible to say the least. I also got my built 10/22 to shoot and my was that disappointing after shooting a Vudoo. LOL. I used to think it was awesome too.

In Lapua's controlled testing environments I would expect slightly better than 28-29mm OD, which converting to my inch mind is .9" 10 shot group at 100 meters.

That seems below what I've seen Vudoo's shoot with good matched match ammo at 100 yards. I'd expect that a well mated lot of match ammo in the Vudoo to pull off a 10 shot group around .75" at 100 yards. @tlsmith22 and @Shooter_X what are your 10 shot @ 100 yard groups like?
