This movie came up during the recent T.E. Lawrence conference I attended. Got plaudits for a great story and for great accuracy. The Talk was called "How the Anzacs saved Britain." It was a great talk by a retired Australian officer. And, yes, he took some liberties. But after all, he is Australian! And a great guy to hoist a pint with!

Nope, that was either ANZACS or Gallipoli.

Also a couple of good movies.

The only person I recognized for sure was the nurse. She was the 'love interest' in Man from Snowy River.

Based on a true and epic story about men and horses and water. The film begins in 1917 when the British campaign in Palestine is stalemated. Focusing on four men in the Australian Light Horse Regiment involved in the battle, the film reaches a climax with the last great cavalry charge in history when 800 Australian lighthorsemen obey the seemingly impossible order to charge against Turkish troops who are formidably supported by machine guns, artillery and aircraft.
