I've won $2 every week that I haven't played since I turned 18.
That's close to $3K, or a really nice Savage rifle that I can shoot F-Class with.
Does that count?
Ah if only you would have invested wisely think of the possibilities.I won $70.00 back in 1985...............
Yeah, but if you had played, by now you would have won enough to buy a quality rifle.
Hopefully you didn't miss my reference to someone who has been spewing garbage in the "legit" forums.
Wait, wait!.......we have legit forums here?
Yeah, it's where all the three shot groups get posted.
As usual, more than they deserved.Oh no you are in NY?? How much of that did that scary twat Hochul grab?
Not worth it, honestly. For every winner that stands up there collecting a zillion $$$ lottery prize, there are tens of thousands of people around them trying to take it away from them. From family members that need emergency surgery to idiots who think they can sue you into oblivion. You have to have a good security and legal teams (also costing big $$$) to survive. You also have to prove to Uncle Sam that you aren't investing in anything "illegal" (like drugs or terrorism). You also have to give up some of your privacy, depending on the lottery commissions' policies. Some will let you get away with just a name and a "likeness" (picture) just to show it was awarded to an "elligible person." Others will want to parade you in front of dozens of electronic media reps, etc. etc., all for their marketing efforts... and repeat that parading for a number of years.
You have to be willing to say "NO" to family members, friends, charities, etc. etc. and suffer the consequences of that (isolation from your family & friends). And, most importantly, you have to manage your lifestyle and ensure you don't go much beyond your "pre-lottery" lifestyle. Or that money will be gone, quickly enough!
Thanks, but no thanks! Well, maybe if it's a small award like 5 Million (just enough to stay under the Federal Estate tax threshold), then I'd be cool. But, otherwise, Nope!
Depends on the amount. If you were the sole winner of a billion $ jackpot? Give the immediate family $1 million to fuck off and remind them of it if they ever ask again.
Then you could die spending a million $ a year and never spend it all.
I'd claim it under a trust (state requires a name) and take the 20 year option. Even if I kick it, wife and kids will still receive money from the trust monthly. Even a few million reinvested and not spent like crazy would be easy to live on.
Also easy to turn the vultures away when "I have no bills, but I only get paid $5k/month from my trust. Can't access any other money to invest in your schemes!"
Guy at work won 1 million a few years ago, not a substantial amount anymore but something that could of been used towards retirement. (Winnings not taxed in Canada) Ended up divorced, lost house, young kids. Would of been better off not winning
I've got no family left, only a couple old good friends that wouldnt have to ask, I'd fatten them up because theyre friends. Then buy a small ranch somewhere quiet and disappear. Anybody that comes looking for a hand out gits the Maggot signature declination. Not worth it, honestly. Cunts alre like mold, they just show up and are hard to get rid of.Years ago they did a TV show where they "planted" a briefcase with 100k in it. When the guy found it he tossed it in the dumpster thinking it was drug money and they would come and kill him.
So much for the watch from a blind approach, so they went and got the money and explained it to the guy.
To these people $100k seems like a shit ton of money, back when this was made it was a great deal more then today, but still not much. He bought a new truck (all these numbers are ball park), there goes $30k, he bought his best friend a used car, $5k gone.
Shock of all shock a human with a.....well.....cunt arrives and lives up to that. Inside of six months he is homeless again, divorced the truck is long gone. But he said he had fun.
IIRC they even provided the dude with an advisor how to make the money last. He would hear none of it.
After seeing this was an epiphany moment for me. These people....or at least some (most) of these people choose to live this way. This is what they want. If handed the golden ticket and given step by step instructions on how to get out of where they are and into "society" they don't want to do that, too hard, their money they will do what they want. What happened.
This dude did not blame anyone however he said he made all the choices and this was the result, but he had a fun time.
