It is important when doing the conversion to bush the bolt face and re-machine it to the proper dimension before cutting the slot for the extractor. There are those that refuse to do this and it leaves the bolt face uncut and with a huge gap between the cartridge case head and bolt. The very good reason for doing this is to, one, change to a positive extractor, two, to change to a different bolt face size and, three, to repair an obsolete bolt extractor to a serviceable condition.

I was looking at a video that a guy posted on Longrangehunting.com,he did it the way you describe. He used a silver solder paste with built in flux,this looks like a good way to do it. Id like to use the paste type silver solder.What type would you recomend for this.
