Anybody seen this movie?

It is a 2005 movie with Tommy Lee Jones and Barry Pepper. I had never heard of it and saw it on Netflix. Picked it up, because I like both actors. I thought it was excellent. Good plot, Jones plays a crazy assed rancher on the U.S. Mexican boarder and Pepper is a boarder patrol agent.

I finished this movie wanting the two hours back that Tommy Lee Jones stole with his bad plot and acting. Now No Country For Old Men is a good part for him, this was not. I liked him in The Missing and Berry Pepper did a great job in True Grit among others. Two great actors but didn't care for this one.

It's offbeat and quirky. No normally my fare; but he did it as a pet project and I liked the job Jones did with the whole thing. I watched it on cable 'back when'. I'm not on the lookout for the DVD, but I'd think about it if it showed up on the shelf in front of me.

I lived in the area where this was filmed, Van Horn Texas, Odessa, TX etcetera. Even shopped at the same mall (Music City Mall, theater entrance). Pretty cool movie. Met a lot of people just like those characters. West Texas is a "Special" place.
When the female illegal gets her payback is a pretty cool scene.

Lagely a decent movie. Unbelievable that the TLJ character so easily warmed up to Melquiades enough to make the plot work. A bit too reminiscent of Lonesome Dove with the body/burial plot element.

Needs to be another movie for TLJ with a body saga so he can have TLJ's Three Burials. West Texas is turning into a graveyard with the Pecos Aquifer going salty. Pretty soon it won't be country for men at all...

Decent movie. Liked January Jones!

Watched it when it came out and liked it and watched it again a few months ago when I was thinking about taking a job in Van Horn. Glad I didn't. Van Horn is truly the ass end of the world.
