Night Vision Thermal question regarding Burris

I know the general sentiment on here regarding the Burris thermals, but I have an opportunity to pick up one of the V3 640 scopes for about $2700. Optics Planet has them for $3500 currently. I do not currently own any thermal optics and have little experience with them. My intended use is to thin out the coyote population on my hunting land, which would likely consist of shots out to 250ish max. My question is, am I be better served to spend the same amount of money on a different optic, which would bump me down to 384 in most cases, or get the discounted 640 Burris?

If stuck on price and staying 640 is a huge concern, there is a huge sale on a Pulsars right now. You could get the Pulsar Talion XG35 for just a little more. It is hard to find a decent quality 640 thermal, Non Chinese scope in that price range, but the Talion fits that description.
