I have found my self shooting rimfire more and more. I have a pretty accurate rifle (KIDD all the way). But have daydreams about a nice bolt gun. I have shot a few .25 groups with my KIDD over the years but it seems to hang around the .4 -.6 range most of the time (50yds).

My question is if you had $4000 to spend on a gun only (have scope and accessories) what route would you go? I am thinking a 40X clone or the likes built in an ACIS or maybe an Anschutz with a little TLC. Mostly would be bench and prone shooting.

Also are the other rimfire rounds besides .22lr more constant from round to round? I have only shot the .22 WMR. This could also take me another direction.
