Great start, but I'd be more interested after seeing what the other 46 rounds from that box do before getting too excited. Rimfire ammo consistency is a continually frustrating experience. If the rest of the box does that , then indeed you have a magic lot that you need to get more of before it runs out of stock. nice group at 100.

Typical past experience for me is I get 2-8 rounds per box of 50 that are either hot or slow enough to drop the shot out of the x ring. X-ring for ARA BR is 1/2" bull at 50 yards, worst case scoring (if it breaks the line, it gets scored at lower value). The more $ spent usually means a better lower standard deviation, but even the expensive ammo have had turds mixed in with em.

I appreciate the constructive criticism. I have shot Similar groups from this same lot a few times. Actually from more than 1 rifle. This group is from the same rifle a few weeks earlier.

Nice wallet groups RD.
Feel like a challenge?
Lets see 10 shots for score at 100 yards.
Not groups, score...best edge.

link to a pdf, download, open, print 8.5x11 actual size.
Outer border measures 7.5x10 inches to check.
A box of 50 will allow you to shoot 5 targets.

It ain't easy, but it is enjoyable.
Let's see what you can do...

...bring y'er wind flags.

When I shot rimfire silhouette, SK Standard Plus served me well out of an Annie 1712. Groups like those posted above weren’t unusual.
22’s can be bitchy to fine what your barrel likes, so I like to get sample boxes from places like Champion’s, then order a bunch from same lot once a favorite is found.

it's fun as long as you don't mind the wind or ammo quality kickin' y'er adze. ;)

I get impatient and end up ruining a decent score.

Others can get the job done quite nicely...

I've shot a fair number of lots of SK Std+ over the past several years; never got very serious about lot testing it because I figured there'd always be a fair number of flyers with ammo in that price range. However, I decided to buy some lot samples of it a couple of months ago, and wound up finding a lot that had far fewer flyers than any other Std+ I'd ever shot. I thought it was good enough to buy a case of the stuff, so now I've got some pretty good ammo for fun shooting, not just in the 40XB & V-22s, but also the two CZ 457s I've got. I'm somewhat more than slightly surprised that the same ammo that shoots well out of ACE, Bartlein, Krieger, and Lilja custom bbls also shoots great out of a CZ 457 MTR, which has a much tighter bore than even the Lilja titebore bbl on my 40XB. Not sure why CZ goes with this tight of a bore diameter on their hammer forged .22RF bbls, but with the tighter match chamber of the MTR, that bbl shoots very nearly as well as the customs do.

OTOH, the factory bbl of the 457 American has proven itself lacking in consistent performance - unless you consider consistently poor accuracy 'consistent'. I liked the appearance, reliability & balance of this American too much to give up on it - there's a Shilen select match ratchet rifled 22RF blank in the lathe right now that will be turned down to the point where it won't take much bbl channel enlargement to make it fit. Hopefully, it'll shoot nearly as well as my little lightweight ACE 18" Ranch bbl on my V-22 carbine when I'm finished with it. It's probably a bit of a stretch to expect that much out of a mass produced, mid-range priced sporter, but chronographing decent ammo out of both these 457s gave comparable ES & SD numbers to what I was seeing out of the V-22s, and give how well the 457 MTR shoots, I felt it was worth the cost & work to re-barrel the American. Time will tell....

Love it when you post helpful information and get instructions on why it’s meaningless.
This should be like the sale forums. NO THREAD SHITTING.
