Range Report This one had me smiling

Down in TN doing some long range shooting this weekend. I made a new Kydex cheek rest the other day to go over the PRS stock which has helped me to obtain proper eye relief with this critter.

Got behind it this afternoon with a box of 175gr SMK loads and got some dope recorded out to 1000 yards. Decided to try some hail mary shots at 1200 and after one sighter I kept 4 out of 4 rounds on a 12" steel disk at 1200 yards with her. Didn't expect to get that out of a gas gun, especially at 45*F but she did it. Can't wait to get back out with her tomorrow.

That is a nice rig, the sniper grills are hilarious. It was a fun time in TN and good to meet you, if you are ever going to be out in Houston let me know and we can go shooting.

That is right I was standing right behind you when you rang it the last few times. Some good shooting with any rifle especially a semi-auto.

Not quite as good as a .308 hit at 1390 though

. Some of us burned a good bit of powder failing to reach that goal. You did some nice shooting yourself!

Looks like Accurate rifle. Nice fine-tuned cheek pc.
How long did it [cheek pc.] take to make?

Camo is great too. What type of scope (MOA #)did you use 4 shots on target?

I spent about an hour on the cheek piece. Just heated the Kydex, draped it until it cooled then trimmed it to fit. I still need to glue it down, wanted to make sure I'd like it first.

The scope is a NF 3.5-15x50 NP-R2. Elevation was 52MOA to get to 1200yds.

I wish I had a place to shoot that far right now! I'm keeping my fingers crossed, a guy at work says the place he shoots is a farmers land that has supposedly 1 mile of range! Hoping he can get me and a friend of mine (here on the hide) the hookups so we can get more long range practice.
