this weather app is the best I've seen for forecasting wind

Guys, I know there's lots of weather apps out there but this one really is different. You can pick any square yard in the world and get current wind and temperature readings live from 4 satellites, plus amazing forecasting. Super easy to use. Play with it, its amazing and full of features. This is for cell phones and desktop computers and its free. It sends me wind alerts about my rifle range. I mean, like if you know a remote place you like to camp this will tell you the wind and weather conditions for that exact spot.

Nice looking screen. Maybe I don't understand it well, but I just went out and took a reading at my location with a Kestrel and the app shows 8 kt or 9.2 mph, actual reading was 1 mph with a gust to 3 and the moving dots that indicate wind direction were accurate.

they sell weathervanes for those kestrels, if you’re not pointed directly into the wind there will be error. Not easy to do by hand. also the lower the wind speed the greater the error in the kestrel. note that the four satellites used by the app will generally show some differences so it’s not perfect but it’s still great for getting an idea of what’s happening in remote areas when you’re not there
