Re: Thoughts on a suppressed SBR
I have done some testing on a few different AR's with/without suppressors, enough to be a believer in the benefits of setting up an AR to run with a can. You have to ask yourself if you are going to run a can all the time, or take it on/off. If all the time, look at what Ken Elmore of SAW and Grant Timber of G&R tactical do with "suppressed only" carbines.
If you will be shooting with the can on/off, from what I have seen the Noveske Switchblock is the way to go.
Now a normal carbine will work with a can, but to run in optimum condition and get the longest life out of your rifle, strongly consider the two points I just made.
I would also be hesitant of any Ti can on that short of a barrel, as the 10" barrels are brutal on a can. Yet again, if you are going to run it all the time, and insist on a 10" barrel, get a QD can with a muzzle brake (like the Surefire 212 or M4-2000). The muzzle brake will take the blunt of the abuse from the unburnt powder, QD will allow you to easily clean it. I would not go with a muzzle brake if you plan on shooting unsurpressed.
If cost is an issue, save up a little longer for a good quality can.
Another neat little can for a CQB setup that wont break the bank is this...
Ops M4S
Gives you enough suppression to not make your ears bleed inside, yet keeps the OAL down.
