I’ m a huge Creedmoor fan, for my gas guns. I have my father’s M14A. I was thinking about updating that old war horse. I heard good reviews on that stock system for, the most part. Negative being weight. I value the guys on here opinion. So, gohead. Lol thank you in advance

I had one. It is definitely very cool, but it makes the rifle very heavy. If I were to do it over again, I would have just used the wood stock or got a fiberglass one. I didn't see an improvement in accuracy

It's a great stock and makes the rifle look all modern.
It is heavy as anything, so it depends on if you really want that stock system or want to hang a bunch of stuff off rails and the like.

I personally wish I had just kept mine in the nice original wood stock.

Be careful before changing an older M1A.

Devine M1As and such can be big money.

Id enjoy it for its history but I get it when guys want to build clones.

No wrong decision, all personal choice. Seems like what your intending to do can be worked back if you want.

My sage EBR actually feels light to me after toting around a 24" bolt gun with scope, bipod and barricade block. Of course it's just got iron sights right now.

Carried one in afghanistan you can see it in my profile pic....heavy heavy heavy...check piece adjustment is not ideal and over time with dust and dirt seizes up. I wasn't a huge fan of the scope rail mount and found getting the bolt out of the rifle without removing the scope tedious.

I used to have my Crazy Horse in one. Sold it. Heavy pig as others have said. Went back to the fibeglass stock with a cheek riser and rail up front for a bipod. Sometimes I wish I had it still as the groove in my receiver for a scope mount is slightly out of spec. With the Sage it was a non issue using the top cantilever picatinny mount. When I change side mounts now I have to get them machined a tad. Its not something I change often but it does happen occasionally. Have a spare IOR scope lying around with short eye relief and the current mount wont get it far enough back. Would have to put a GDI on but havent been up for a custom project on this rifle lately.

M14E2 stock all the way
