This scope is one of the best medium range hunting scopes. The FFP reticles are calibrated for ranging roe deer in Europe. Reticle 4 brackets a roe deed between the thick horizontal posts at 100m. If the roe deer fits between the crosshair and a thick horizontal poste the range is 200m. Reticle 8 brackets a roe deer between the crosshair and a horizontal post at 100m. I prefer the open reticle 8. The most popular reticle in Europe is the illuminated no.60. Unfortunatly Zeiss do not offer mildot no.43 in this scope.

S&B have ffp mildot i their long range hunter series. 3-12x42 and 3-12x50.
