Rifle Scopes Thoughts on vortex strike eagle 3-18x44 or something different

For a 18” 223 build I like the idea of a somewhat compact optic looking at the vortex strike eagle 3-18x44 with a price point of around $400-500. Would be willing to spend alittle more if something is much better.

Mainly used for shooting targets and a little coyote hunting out to maybe 400 yards
