So I’ve pulled the trigger and ordered a 6.5 ctr 24in rifle. I’ve neber fired a factory tikka rifle but have handled many in the store. I’m not a fan of the ethos, it just feels pastic’yy. I want to upgrade the stock....

This rifle will be 90% shooting steel from bags and prone. The other 10% truck deer/pig hunting.

I’ve never shot a chassis but love the idea of adjusting the stock to the hunter. I’ll be the only one shooting this rifle then my three girls (all under 2) will eventually shoot it.

Chassis: I’ve looked hard at the Bravo and Xlr Element. What’s everyone thoughts on these chassis? Is the MPA comp worth the price?

Traditional Stock: I’m looking at Manners T4 and McMillan Game Warden.

I’ve heard the Bravo is amazing for the price. But are people just saying that because they haven’t shot high end stocks? I don’t have much access to all these stocks and will be leaning on all your expertise!!

I have a Manners MCS T4 and LOVE it. I would get the T4A if I were you

Here's mine

I have a lot of chassis (XLR, MPA, Bravo, JAE, etc).

The XLR is the most adjustable, but it often requires a lot of trial and error.

The MPA I found the most well handling in PRS type shooting (well balanced, somewhat heavy, but nimble).

The Bravo, due to it’s light weight, was the most nimble and was very comfortable to shoot from. For positional PRS shooting it was almost too light and front heavy (makes seeing your splash more sensitive to your fundamentals).

It really boils down to personal preferences. I’d say, go with a Bravo first. Then, you can branch out to an XLR or MPA later. If you end up going with another chassis later, you’ll have an “extra” one to build up for the girls. At least that’s how I have justified a few of my chassis and rifle purchases in the past. ?

You should try get some trigger time in the factory stock before jumping on a replacement.
I've tried a few different stocks and chassis and actually really like the factory stock.

Yes it's a bit plasticy, but compared to most other factory stocks it's very good, and the T3x stock is a big improvement over the original T3 stock. I'd say try shooting it for a bit and see if you can get some experience with the stocks/chassis' you are looking at.
I personally don't really like a chassis for a hunting rifle and would tend towards a stock like the manners, but the factory stock will save you a bit of weight also.
