I’m not sure if I need a new DBM on my Tikka, but wanted to see if there was any reason to go with the Mtn Tactical version over the Atlasworx.
I picked up a T3 in .338 wm, and a 300 wm barrel for it as well. Haven’t decided which one I’m keeping. Getting a brake installed on the .338 next week and hoping to get it to group 230 grain ELD-X loads well, but they’ll have a long jump due to mag length restrictions.
I knew the mag restrictions were a factor with tikka magnums, but I figured it wasn’t too hard of a fix with the various DBM’s available. This might be all for nothing, as maybe I can get them to shoot with a big jump.
Can anyone comment on how the Atlasworx version compares to the Mtn Tactical? I would want to use Magpul Ai mags in either case. I don’t need the front barricade of the Mtn Tac as this is a hunting gun, not PRS. I prefer the shorter mag release on the Mtn tac, but for $100 the Atlasworx is pretty reasonably priced.
I may swap stocks down the road, but for now I’m using a T3X stock to keep it light for hunting.
Thanks.
