So if you had the option to pick up a CTR in 308 for $900 right now but didn’t really need it as you had a 6.5 CTR already, would you do it?
It seems like a pretty fair price for these times. If I don’t buy it I will just be putting the money into other useful stuff anyway.

I wouldn't bother.
In saying that, I have a Sako TRG .308, that I'll never part with.
My Tikka Super Varmint in 6.5, is my favourite rifle for every day feral smacking.

I don’t see why. I had a 308 that I never used and finally sold it. I’ve got a 6.5cm and a 6cm comp rifles and a 243 deer rifle. The 308 was no collectors piece so why hold onto something that won’t get used.

If the price is right (for you), and you want it go for it. If you find it useful I don't see why not since you expect the money to go to other useful items as it is.

I'd snag it. They're damn good rifles out of the box. And plenty shootable out of the box. I'd swap the base for a murphy precision 20 MOA though.
