I purchased a used Tikka T3 Tac A1 awhile back at my LGS... Been to the range with it a few times and functioned fine - Groups seemed a bit open but I was shooting junk 308 and didn't think much of it. Took it over to a friends after shooting to work on it and he put his bore scope down it - Yuck. Not really sure what I am looking at but appears to be pitting? rust?

How would you recommend I proceed with the barrel? Thoughts?

Thanks for the input

This is where the "I don't need to clean my barrel" argument falls down. Seems like the previous owner shot it hot and put it away dirty in a plce with no climate control.

But, yes, give it a good clean with an oil based cleaner and a bronze brush and see how it shoots. From prior experience with a badly pitted barrel; they can still shoot very well.
