I have a chance at a Tikka T3a1-308 with 16”inch barrel For $1300. 3 mags. One box of ammo through it. Are the 16inch barrel models good enough for accuracy up to 300 yards? Are these good chasis systems? Anything you could tell me I’d appreciate it.

The Tikka T3 TAC A1 is a great rifle - don't know why anyone would cut down the factory 24" barrel to 16" unless they had a specific need to get it small (maybe for fold up storage). There are 18" 308's that reach out past 300 yards easy, so 16" will probably be fine to 300 and then some. How enjoyable a 16" 308 is to shoot is another question.

New T3 TAC A1's are starting for $1415 on Gunbroker. (https://www.gunbroker.com/item/851550222) For me, I'd walk away from it. Plenty of aftermarket barrels to choose from, but at $1300 you'd be in the red. Why bother.

They come in a 16”. Good length for a suppressor. Mags are $90 each... and no tax or transfer... so I think the price is good. Lots of articles on a 16” 308. I decided it was best based on my geography. Not many long range shots in my AO.
I love mine and it only has a box through it. Going to run it through a class in February with distances out to 800 yards. It’s a well designed and a well made rifle.

You can find mags for $65. Shop around a bit.
