I have a T3x in 6.5CM, I know to change to 6.5PRC I would need a different bolt. Is that the case if I had it rechambered to 6.5x47?

PRC is easy, I’ve done a slew of conversions now without issue. Bolt gets machined, barrel gets rechambered. Long action bolt stop, long mag. 47 will require a set back, and a good reason.

I have a new barrel to throw on there. I know when I asked the smith before he said a different bolt would be required for PRC, was curious if I could use the same bolt for the 6.5x47.

I will add that LRI is offering an aftermarket Tikka bolt that will make caliber conversions easier.
Yes, that is why I asked. Wanted 6.5PRC at first but didn't want to switch bolts. Since they offer it now, it is a possibility but the x47 sounds intriguing to me and I don't need a different bolt.
