Hello everyone !

I have Tikka T3x tac A1, I love this rifle but I have one issue. I need to balance it so I can use it on tripod more efficiently. However, the buttstock is too heavy and the handguard is too short (13.8 inches) to put additional weight. So, I need to replace standard handguard with longer one (17 to 19 inches).

To do so, I was advised to replace standard Tikka Barrel nut with "Tikka T3X Tac A1 Forend Mount, AR Style Barrel Nut" the link below (photo below).

Do you have any experience with this part ? and which long handguard (17 to 19 inches) can you recommend which will work with this AR Style Barrel Nut.

I would (and did on my Tac A1) replace the whole chassis with one that fits your needs better. I put mine in a KRG Bravo because I wanted it reasonably light and simple. The Bravo might not suit your needs, but there are a lot of options out there from KRG, MPA, MDT, etc.

I can almost guarantee you could get enough weights on that gun to balance it. Have you tried adding weight or are just guessing?

If youre going to mess with the handguard, I'd just change to a different chassis. That's what I did with my Tac A1 and I don't regret it.
