Looking to get a Tikka T3x Tac A1 as a 1st rifle to start in PRS. Was wanting to put a TT with a 56mm objective on it. Will this size of objective have any clearance problems. Thanks.

Ring height… is what you will need to find you will probably need 1.25 or something I recommend doing the Pennies to determine what height rings you need… if you already have the rifle

I have that Tikka with a Steiner 4-16x56.
Will you have a canted base and/or scope mount? Scope caps?
With 0 cant, clearance is fine. With a 20 MOA mount and Aadmount caps, it’s nearly touching the pic rail on the handguard.

K525i with Kahles/Tenabraex caps , ARC 20 moa M10 mount, 1.5 " height.

I just mounted a 56mm Athlon Midas Tac scope with sunshade on my Tikka Tac A1. I used high rings which I recommend, especially if you change from the 0 moa stock scope base to a 20 or 30 moa base for longer distance shooting. I used a 30 moa Egw canted scope rail which puts my sunshade very close to the top of the pic rail, like 1/8". Taller is better in my opinion

Agree with longshot2000. If I may add...
I didn't want to fight changing the included picatinny rail, so I'm using a Spuhr ISMS 34mm 6MIL/20MOA (SP-4602) Height 1.5" to mount a Vortex Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27x56. Without the sunshade I can use the Vortex Defender Objective (O-56) 56mm Flip Cap, no issues. With the sunshade it's a very tight fit. Not wanting to affect the scope alignment I remove the flip-cap if I want to use the sunshade.

I'm new to all this so this may seem like a silly question, but what are your thoughts on a cantilever mount compared to the traditional mount? I'll be mounting a Discovery Optics ED-PRS 5-25x 56 and I'm leaning towards a spuhr 20moa in either a SP-4602C or a cantilever SP-4616. ANy advise would be greatly appreciated

Thanks VS. I hadn’t thought about it like that. That’s a very good point
The American Defense, Recon mounts are solid, can come with built in elevation and are still fairly reasonable in cost for a USA made mount.

You can always sell them later and get some spuhr mounts. Good luck!

Thanks VS. looks like I’ve got some mounts to research when I get a break. Thanks for the recommendation. I want to work out what style of shooting I enjoy the most and eventually build or buy a more up spec rifle to suit. An expensive scope and mount to suit will be part of that project. So the American defence mounts sound like a better option for this first rifle
