not keen on them

Re: Tilted Iron Sights

Offset irons were not meant for use with a dot. They were designed for the 3 gun world for guys using a magnified optic that didnt offer a true 1x. It was considered quicker to rotate the rifle and use a set of irons instead of a 1.5x optic on close stuff. And with the offset irons it would keep a guy out of open division than someone running a magnified optic and a dot.

I just use irons, I dont need all that fancy stuff.

Re: Tilted Iron Sights

You could argue that they are already deployed, but so are the fixed BUIS on my M4.

If you are in a situation where you don't have time to remove a magnified optic and deploy your BUIS then you are in a situation where you should have had a very durable 1x optic (I.E. Aimpoint) and fixed BUIS.

Re: Tilted Iron Sights

I only ran flip ups under magnifications, we had fixed buis' on our entry rifles behind M68's. If it went tango uniform, you didn't need to transition because it was there. Thats why I wasn't that keen on the EOTechs, they always seemed to turn off at the inoppurtune time, my M2 had crazy battery life.
