Hi guys,

I install the timney trigger on my Glock 21. The trigger pull is beautiful!

Upon using I notice that the trigger safety even without pressing it will fire .

I left message and email Timney but they never got back to me. I'm just afraid if I accidentally drop the pistol that it might go off. Its been 2 weeks so far nothing from Timney.

Maybe you guys who experience same problem can help find a remedy

I have tried a bunch of triggers to improve the base pull of the Glock. It sucks that some of the triggers will end up costing a couple of hundred dollars. For competition triggers in Glocks, I thought Timney and Johnny Glock were probably the go to for most people. Depending on how they are tuned, they absolutely let you go faster but at a cost of reliability. For me, there are different levels of what I am willing to do to a Glock and it completely depends on the use case.

If I am going to carry it for self defense I will install the factory minus connector. Another option that is almost as reliable but gives you a shorter pull and a better feeling trigger and reset is the metal shoe drop in from tacticaltrigger.com. Really close to these two is some of the APEX options for Glock.

As I started out with, Timney, Johnny Glock and some of the APEX would be my choice for competition pistols.

Of note, Glock stealth changed their in house performance trigger and I have not had time to shoot or evaluate it yet. The first iteration of the in house was kind of poopy.

The safety should be working in all of these triggers, Timney should fix it.

Well guys I finally spoke to Timney CS.
Seems to be a known problem they just don't make it public.

They ask me to send it back and I request a prepaid mailing label. Its a week turnaround.

I have to send the whole trigger including the sear assembly. I thought its only the trigger they need.

Anyway it's on it's way back. Hope I get it soon.

I've broken several early gen timneys and would not trust them to last a shooting season. Right now, the best one I've used is the Tactical Triggers (dumb name, I know) with either the polymer or aluminum shoe, depending on your preference. I'm really excited to get my hands on the triggertech one whenever they release it as well.

How many rounds did you do before the Timney trigger failed?

Only a couple thousand. I've broken them in a few different ways though. Trigger safety, sear, and the adjustment housing piece.

*Edited to add this was all within a year or two of release, I have no experience with them recently to know if they've upgraded.
Didn't you try contact Timney and have them replace the defective triggers? They supposedly have lifetime warranty

Yeah, they're excellent on their warranty. After you have the same problem a few times though you don't want to waste more of your shooting season with gear you can't trust. I'll absolutely buy timney rifle triggers again, they've handled the few issues I've had with those very quickly, but I just can't bring myself to try that glock trigger again.
