I am having a problem with my 03 Springfield.. I installed a Timney Sportsmans trigger on the rifle and a new stock.. I bedded the action and everything seems fine until I tighten the rear action screw, when I tighten it all the way I get the cocking piece following the bolt all the way closed, in other words the cocking piece won't stay cocked.. When I back off the screw a little bit everything is fine.. WEIRD!!! Got any advice?

Thanks..

Re: timney trigger problem on an 03

Kind of funny,,,I just finished rebuilding my 03 and also put the same trigger in it with the Rem style safty.

On mine I had to remove a little alum on the front or the mag box would hit it.

Anyway,,,My first thought is that some bedding material or the stock is hitting it when you torque it down and also check all your adjustments.

Where are you at in Idaho? I am in Bellevue, 60 miles north of Twin Falls by Sun Valley.

Yea, My wife and I live just east of Lewiston, up in the Mountains. I'll check the bedding and stock again, frustrating problem, thanks...
