I am looking at a timney trigger and am wondering if anyone has one and if they fit the rem 700 w/x-mark?
I have noticed on midway that rifle basix triggers are listed as pre-2006 and post-2006 models. Will I have any issues with a timney trigger in a post-2006 rem 700? Also if you would post some pics of the trigger shoe.
thanks

Re: timney trigger

Not sure if they all have the same shoe or not, but here is mine:

Re: timney trigger

2006 was when the x-mark was introduced.

Most of the triggers I have seen listed that way re-use the stock safety. The X-mark and non-xmark safety are different.

I like the feel of the Timney, I would just like to hear some reliability testimony before I put one on a field rifle. The only one I had a chance to fire had an issue with the safey jamming in the "fire" position. I haven't heard back from the owner on what the issue was.

Re: timney trigger

I have a Timney model #512 (#510 + Nickel plating = #512) on my Remmy 700 5R, it replaced the X-Mark that came with the rifle. I am very happy with the Timney, it is built well and works great! The trigger shoe is wide and feels really nice compared to the smooth and narrow shoe on the X-Mark. I Can't recommend this trigger enough! and would recommend getting it direct from Timney so they can adjust it to the weight that you want direct at the factory, thats what I did.

here is a link, choose if you want nickel plating or not (for $10 more, I think its worth it) and choose what weight you want them to adjust it to and click add to cart.

Just FYI I adjusted my trigger down to 1 pound after I got it from them, so it is able to go down to 1 pound even though they recommend 1.5 pound as the lightest weight.

Re: timney trigger

LoneWolf, I have been to the desert 3 times with my Timney, and 2 of those 3 times it was really windy (not to mention the 20+ times Ive been to the range with it). I have yet to clean my trigger and it still works great with zero issues thus far. The pull weight and feel of the trigger is very consistent.

Yes. Order direct from Timney, and you should have it in a couple of days. Mine took 4 days from the time of the order to my door.
