So I was thinking, I have been shooting steel suppressors this whole time, and now I am looking at a titanium one for my 300. I would guess its going to recoil more now because the suppressor weighs less. Right? Just wondering how much of the "muzzle brake" feature of suppressors was caused by the weight vs the baffles.

From my understanding, it's not the weight of the can that makes it reduce recoil, it's the dispersion of gasses. kind of like a break with a sleeve over it. gasses "hold" in the can instead of being focused out the end of the bbl... that make any sense?

the TI stuff will not show any more recoil.....they are just plain SEXY.....and will be "tone'ly" different.....

my Ti can on a 308 and 300wm is as good or better than a brake. Have shot a steel suppressor on same an could not feel more or less recoil.

My sandstorm really cut the recoil on my .308 !
And, it is hearing safe, now.

I have been shopping cans on the web all day for my .308 and wondering about the titanium verses steel. Obviously in the field reduced weight is a plus and you are saying it is ear safe. Do you need any hearing protection?

Only from the other shooter's guns.
I fired maybe 10 rounds without heqring protection before the others started shooting.
Given that my ears ring all the time these days, even the wind from riding my motorcycle sets them crazy ringing. (I have to wear earplugs, even though the BMW is quiet.) I had none of that happen with the Sandstorm.
You can ask the others at the pumpkin shoot. The bullet crack was the loudest part.

Actually, the ding from the steel was the loudest part...
I was impressed with the Sandstorm can. At about 10 feet from him and it did not set off the gate on my electronic Peltors (and snapping my fingers will set off the gate).
