Tikka T3 Tactical 223 REM 24" Threaded Barrel made in 2007

Trying to find out if the barrel is a 1 in 8 twist. Barrel is marked " CAL 223 REM. 8" Made in Finland "

Worth getting?

The 8" refers to the barrel twist.

I'd say get it if the price isn't crazy, the T3 tactical weren't the cheapest rifles when new.

No idea on price.
The rifle is effectively a T3 Varmint with a few other upgrades.

I wouldn't want to pay anymore than the new T3x Varmints cost, mostly due to the new stock being better (vertical grip option) but you could probably pick up a T3x stock for cheap if you wanted.

Thinking about it I think I have spare CTR stock floating around.

It will likely shoot close to a decent custom barrel.

Somewhere between 3/4-1/2 moa very consistently is what you see for factory tikka barrels, with many groups under that.

FWIW, just bought a new Super Varmint. They are universally, it seems, listed for 1,648. Got mine for less than that through “ take a shot “ on Gunbroker.

That's an 8" twist barrel. Definitely worth getting if the price is right.

I've got a Tikka T3x 223 Varmint rifle, fantastic rifle and very accurate too.

The CTR comes threaded, the varmint not. I have the CTR in 223 and Tac A1 in 6.5 cm, both have the same barrel dimensions and I swop the moderator from one to another at will.

I have a T3 223 varmint. I had the barrel threaded. Shot a ton of coyotes with it. 9 inch ultra. 50 gr Fiocci BT.

The gun I would like is the 22-250 in 1:8. A little hard to find, but with patience.
