Agree. Advertisement is the way these sites pay for themselves. These things are not free. Far from it. When you start getting heavy traffic they run thousands of dollars. It does not bother me in the slightest.

Calguns is a place that despite the things one might not like about it, I'm not gonna trash it. Why?

Because it's a place where you can actually meet local shooters, get local deals, etc. It's also a place where you can actually meet a lot of people who are very involved in the defense of the 2nd Amendment IN THAT STATE.

I frequent a few forums, and none I pay anything to participate in. If they need to throw up some ads, banners, or whatever, more power to them. I'm not gonna trash the conduit of the free market of thoughts, ideas, local camaraderie, etc. because I have to see an ad or two.

Of course, one could always pony up the cash equal to the income of ads, and the loss of future revenue when said site ditches all its advertisers for your deep pockets.
