Not a great place for this, but about the closest I could think of.

I recently purchased a Thompson, with 1 stick mag and 1 50rd drum.

Discovered AFTER I got home that the spring in the drum is broken >.< Anyone know of someone that can fix these?

You speak the truth, Sir. Light they are NOT!

The one I picked up is an encased/numbered Collector's edition, never been shot and never will be. It has gold accents and shit, because I'm Gangsta like that. Beautiful wood.

The drum wasn't part of the set, included as an extra.....but it hurts me that it doesn't function.

I was lucky enough that when I was given my Thompson, a local gunshop, that is geared towards the collector's market, just happened to have the parts I needed to complete it.

He said he thought he had some parts out back but thought they were for a M1928, however when he found them they were for a M1A1 and were exactly the parts I needed for mine. The main spring and the bolt buffer.

My Father-in-Law served in the 8th Army Air Corps during WWII as a welder putting B-17's back together. He was issued a M-1 Carbine. He told that when the NCO's pulled guard duty. They would come borrow the M1 Carbines because they were a lot lighter to carry around than the Thompsons they had been issued were.

My Thompson is one of the aluminum receiver ones and it's still heavy

I think that Auto Ordnance is alive and well and has parts.

Congrats on an awesome fun bit of history. They look so small and light, don’t they? Then You pick one up.

And wonder how the hell did those GI’s humped them all over the world!!!??!!!

    Sirhr
maybe they weren't pussies? Maybe they focused on important things instead how much their belt weighs. My grandfather didn't give a fk how much it weighed, only that it went bang and ripped through krauts when needed

it's a half pound heavier than a Garand for crying out loud

Today's soldier carries far more weight then our boys in 2
