Corner of "Walk" and "Don't Walk"
There is this guy who does not have much smarts when it comes to survival in the woods. He is hanging around the homestead and shows up frequently. His rack will be a bit larger next hunting season and my money says he won't make it.

It's 12 degrees F. outside and snowing today, and yes, he is back.

They seem to like Ritz crackers.
Lots of mulies come around people when the mountain lions start pressing the herd.
The deer can be downright friendly because they know the cats will keep their distance most of the time.

We definitely have cougars around. Both I and Mrs. Slo cat have seen them close to the homestead. One close neighbor got some good pics of one on his trail cam.

Someone is probably feeding him or he was hand raised until his nuts dropped and he got to big to deal with one fall.

Neat to get that close. He comes in next fall while they're still bachlored up you might hang a break away orange vest on his neck. Make sure Mrs. Slo Cat gets that on video....

That reminds me of my niece and the neighborhood buck from years ago. They lived near Lake Travis just outside Austin, TX. There was a very tame 8 point whitetail in the neighborhood. One day, she brought him in the house, up the stairs, and had him laying in her bed. She was brushing and putting bows in his hair. My brother found them and it was hard to stay calm and get him out of the house without the deer sensing the magnitude of the situation and getting spooked.

He’s just making friends with you and your wife so she won’t allow you to shoot him next season.
Shooting this buck would be like shooting your family dog. My relationship with Mrs. Slo cat would not survive if I did this. However, she has no problem with me bringing back a cut, wrapped & frozen elk.
