Gunsmithing Too little space for the bipod adapter...

Hi
I never thought I needed to ask about how to install an Harris bipod adapter, but I was wrong.

It looks like the gas cylinder is taking too much of the space in the hollow forend stock on my Benelli R1 to install the Harris #2 adapter.
It`s room enough further backwards if I rub down some of the stock, but of course is that too far back on the stock...

Some one that got any experience and can help me out?
